We finally got a new bed! After years of using that second-hand, nothing-really-wrong-with-it bed, we got our first new bed together. We feel like newlyweds!

We were set out to buy the Warren bed by Berkshire. We were already at the cashier certain, sure, DETERMINED to buy the bed. But this salesgirl named Melissa told us in a not so subtle way, "If you're willing to spend this much money on THAT bed, why don't you try something out with me on the Simmons beds." So we did. After all, she made it pretty clear that "YOU GUYS ARE MAKING THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIVES!! THAT BED IS HORRIBLE!" She made us do the motion test. She had one of us lie down and the other one jump in and move about. In the Berkshire brand, as comfortable as it may have been, the bed shook when Hoen moved about. In the Simmons bed, I hardly noticed him move at all. Now that was one factor we had failed to consider when we were checking out beds. We were all for comfort on the lower back. Beds don't do a lot for me because I am only about 105 lbs. But with Hoen's weight, choosing the right bed is a big deal especially since he had already experienced some back pain before. Melissa pointed out that when we start having a baby, and one of us has to get up at night to attend to the little rascal, the one left behind is going to hate having to wake up everytime the bed shakes in motion. Good point. Good salesgirl. Good bed. Bad for our wallets.

Hoh well. Beds are an investment. My mom always told me, if you have to invest in something quite pricy, make it a bed. That is a couple's sacred place. Amen to that! *Oh and, that's my BIG rascal on the bed down there. Cute butt. Haha.*
